Amanda Brugel

(February 27th, 2010 - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a quiet community located on the part of Montreal known as"the West Island. This part of Montreal is known as the West Island has a lot of diverse communities. People who have never been aware of it frequently think it is a separate island facing west. Amanda Brugel grew up on the island and is frequently called her birthplace. It is true that she was there for a brief period of time. Brugel grew on Courtice located just outside Oshawa within Ontario. Her initial ambition was to be an actor, however, after a rapid expansion, she and her partner weren't able to dance along with her. In an article published in The Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6'1 inch. After I outgrew the male partners, I quit. There are many dancers who make the move into acting. In the case of Brugel, it was her drama teacher who encouraged her in that direction. It was her teacher who advised her to audition as Anne in the school's annual production. After trying out her options, she was eventually the lead actress for Anne of Green Gables. This led to the award of a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program which she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Over the past 20 years since, Brugel has landed roles in more than 60 productions across the big and small screens, attracting the greatest interest when she was offered the role in the role of Rita in the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the sole Canadian cast member in the season 1 of the series, and not seen much.
